New Captain America 4 concept art has been unveiled.
Marvel Studios’ Captain America 4, also known as Captain America: Brave New World, was released in United States theaters this past February. Directed by Julius Onah, the MCU film stars Anthony Mackie as Captain America/Sam Wilson, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Harrison Ford as Thaddeus Ross/Red Hulk, and Giancarlo Esposito as Seth Voelker/Sidewinder.
What did Giancarlo Esposito’s Captain America 4 villain originally look like?
On Instagram, artist Michael Blackbear Uwandi showed off some Captain America 4 concept art revealing what that Sidewinder character originally looked like before Esposito was cast in the role.
“Serpent Society for Captain America Brave New World,” the post reads. “Very early iteration of nano tattoos. The snake skin mask was the idea of a ‘first phase’ transformation for the characters. This was the first take on Side Winder before the actor was cast. The actor ultimately ended up being Giancarlo Esposito.”

The synopsis for Captain America: Brave New World reads, “Anthony Mackie returns as the high-flying hero Sam Wilson, who’s officially taken up the mantle of Captain America. After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.”
The cast further includes Shira Haas as Ruth Bat-Seraph, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Xosha Roquemore as Leila Taylor, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns, and more. The screenplay comes from Rob Edwards, Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musso, Onah, and Peter Glanz, while Kevin Feige and Nate Moore serve as producers. Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth serve as executive producers.
Marvel‘s Captain America 4 is currently available to stream on Disney+.
